It is the slow, grinding erosion of resilience. It is the collective exhaustion of millions of people living in a permanent state of thermal siege, waiting for a season to end that now feels like it has no beginning or end, only a brutal, unyielding present.

Outside the train window, the lights of the city flicker through the haze. The tracks stretch out into the distance, warped by the invisible weight of the afternoon sun, waiting for the cool that takes too long to come.
